Back in time

Some of my favorite outfit moments during my taking-pictures-era. I think what excited me the most was that I got to style myself and create a story. These images were taken about 4 years ago. I remember running to a vintage shop right before the shoot and picking out that purple dress. It cost a pretty penny but I didn't hesitate for a moment- it was perfect for that day's vision. It still sits in my closet silently, knowing that it will never be used again. Sometimes, its great to look back and get some inspiration from the "old me"..

A week of great finds

I will admit- I love Forever21. Its fast fashion, yes. But its affordable and lately their stuff has been getting trendier and more chic. Perhaps that's because of their collaborations with great designers like Brian Lichtenberg.
So one can't blame me for checking out the site on regular basis to see if anything catches my eye. Today, here are a couple of my favorite things that are now on my summer wish list..

1. Tribal Print Lattice Dress $18.90
2. Soaring Bird Necklace $6.80
3. Leatherette Ruffle Purse $22.80
4. Perforated Oxfords $24.80

Anthropologie

Anthropologie is an amazing place to visit. Not just to shop but to admire their wonderful interior design. From antique inspired furniture to coffee table books from the 50's this place sure knows how to set the mood. The other day I walked into the store (The Grove) and saw this fabulous typewriter! For a writer, this was like seeing a pot of gold...My eyes lit up and I pulled out my camera. Of course, it was not for sale. I am told however that you can find them for a reasonable price online..Let the search begin.

Old Hollywood..

When someone asks me to go to Hollywood with them I hesitate and feel the feeling of dread slowly take over.. I smile and get ready to sit in traffic, go into 50 tourist shops and be asked if I wanted to take a "bus tour" on every corner. So, when I was taking some family to the historic Hollywood, I decided to be the best "local tourist" and bring along my camera. Sometimes, all I need to do is look at things with a different perspective..All of a sudden the dread is gone and I start to see the amazing buildings, beautiful architecture and so much history. Turns out all I needed was to look through my camera lens..

Naturally lovely

Visited SeaWorld this week and while snapping some pictures of dolphins and sharks I noticed the fantastic colors- how fabulously pink were those flamingos! How vibrantly yellow orange were those corals...

Inspiration

There is a reason why The Sartorialist blog has been my favorite site to visit daily. Amazing pictures and great inspiration is what made me want to start my own blog. This image reminded me of my recent visit to Milan. While visiting Europe I was inspired to alter my style a bit into what seems to make me want to jump into a light dress and pair it up with a boots/long socks combo. This young woman represents what Italian summer style is all about- freedom and passion.

A breath of fresh air..

Last weekend I jetted off to Big Bear for a little R&R with the fam. What a great way to unwind! I went for a jog, got to rock climb and of course took lots of hikes. I have decided that running away to nature once in a while is a must for my mind and as I hugged a tree good bye I promised to return soon.

Royal-T

For my friend's birthday we headed to Royal-T in Culver City. A Cafe/art space for all of us that love to drink amazing tea while looking at fabulous art work. This Japanese inspired space offers yummy burgers and a contemporary atmosphere to hang out with your chic friends. Check out their art exhibits (life size animal dolls anyone?) or just go to sip on a milk tea. Just a heads up- Time flies when you're having fun-- plan accordingly :)

Lady with great taste

The film I am currently working on, has hired an amazing lady named Lori (Lori's Catering) to provide us with fantastic food. She is not only a fabulous cook but also a very chic dresser!! Every day she amazed me with her cute little wardrobe choices. She said she buys most of her clothes at thrift shops... Judging from her designer picks, I wouldn't mind tagging along on her next trip to Goodwill.

New Project- new adventures

News, news! I am working on my very first featured film and styling some very amazing actors. Yes, sometimes I get lost within the racks but I am so grateful to be working with an amazing team (that would be the very talented Wardrobe Stylist, Jennifer- thanks for being patient with yours truly) and exploring a new path. Who knew?
Thanks Universe, for being so polite and opening some doors for me. That was very gentleman-y of you.

New toy

So I had a dream of a new toy- a camera that was fancy but didn't have the fancy price. A photographer friend recommended this fabulous Canon G11 , a fabulous power shot camera that I finally went and got last week. Mind you, I have lots to learn since there are way more settings then I am used to but my first snap shot of this flower is just the beginning of a wonderful friendship between me and my new little G11.

World Cup, fancy that

As I sit here watching the final match of the World Cup I couldn't stop wondering how much money and time was spend in the last month for this great magical time for the football community. Of course the fashion world couldn't resist but to contribute. For the 2010 World Cup, Louis Vuitton has created a fabulous bag/box from which the trophy will be pulled out of and presented to the champions. No football images here, just the classical LV logo to keep things simple and refined.

Still there in spirit

Just one simple thought for the day -- Thinking about my recent time in Paris and how much I miss it today. Especially this day, my day at the Eiffel Tower...it was a magical trip to the top of the amazing city to which I shall return soon.

Coco is the soul of Paris

1909 was the great year when young Coco Chanel opened up her first fashion boutique. Sure she only sold decorative hats to the mistresses of French businessman but we all know that it lead to the great era of Chanel. How lucky was I to come across this amazing shop that had windows full of Vintage Chanel bags... I share my joy with you with a few pictures I managed to take, since the rest of the time I stared as I thought about how I could achieve at least one tenth of this icon's success.

Ibiza, Spain- a party island with style

So I tagged along with a friend to Ibiza, Spain last week. No, I did not know it was a party island and yes I was not prepared! At first I did not hope to see any interesting self expressions since the most obvious wardrobe choice was, well, none at all. The tiniest speedos and topless bikinis were not much too look at (some might say, only fashion wise). I did however see a surprisingly chic trend among tourists and the locals. These amazing " pantalones" that looked fabulous on any shape or size. I snapped a picture of a fellow traveler and then ran off to buy a version for myself.

Carrie, my darling..

I don't know a girl who has not found inspiration in Carrie...She is the woman we all strive to be in one way or another. Independent, beautiful, successful and most importantly.. so fashionably chic! Instyle came out with a fabulous gallery of Carrie's best outfits and I must say it made my day!

Her Roberto Cavalli (1) top was something Carrie found cleaning out her closet and we were so glad she did! With the asymmetrical skirt and the classy up do she is the perfect NYC girl.
Perhaps its because I believe my heart belongs to Paris that my most favorite wardrobe picks were when Carrie was in France...Hello hot boots (2)! And by far the most amazing Sonia Rykiel striped dress (3)- it just screams Parisian fashion. This image makes me want to drop everything and take off to the city of love, eat pastries and smell the incredibly red roses...

Main St.

What are beautiful dress! All I know about it is that it is by a European designer.. that's all I got from its model. Oh well, "you can make it yourself" she said to me. Not sure about duplicating that pattern but I sure can admire these pictures I snapped..
