Milan- Versace

I wish I was in Milan!! Sure the weather is a bit chilly but I’ll trade in my LA sunshine for the amazing shows like the most recent Versace! Metallics, midnight blues and blacks- the royal style of this legendary brand graced the runway. Long flowey dresses along with mini leather skirts were complimented with loose hair and light make up. Yellows and whites made an appearance, breaking the rules of the Fall classic colors but not forgetting the autumn’s favorite brown..

Christian goes with the times

Ahhh, New York Fashion Week.. how I wish you and I were having an affair this season! Unfortunately I am not there to see you everyday (still speaking to you, NYFW) But I promise I am following you on every possible site, blog, magazine, show..
What a year, eh? Some pretty tough times has hit the majority of the population in the recent months. But winter will be over soon and then we will have the fabulous spring. A time for the snow to melt and the flowers to blossom. A time for new beginnings and hope. For that amazing fresh start many designers have chosen to put their best foot forward. One of them was the adorable newcomer ( is he still considered new??)Christian Siriano. His collection was just what tickles my pickle- blacks, greys, violets, matallics..The dresses were to die for and no where close to being casual. Siriano says, he thinks people have gotten a bit sloppy when it comes to dressing up, and is clearly trying to inspire folks to pull out that lipstick and pull out those high heels. Speaking of shoes, the designer is coming out with a line for Payless shoe stores. Yes, thank goodness at least one designer is with the times...Who can think about buying a 2000 dollar dress when they can't pay rent! The new footwear line is not only incredibly sexy, antique Parisian inspired but also within the affordable price range.

Walking Green

Who doesn’t love organic goodies? I know, the “green fashion” movement has taken off like its nobody’s business and one might struggle finding a reason why NOT to buy eco apparel with so many choices. Some lines however, do stand out, and I will bring up a few in the near future. Today I must speak of the amazing shoe line Terra Plana. Their leathers are vegetable tanned and rubber soles are recycled. Wooden heels are made of sustainable forest wood and the construction is all sewn by hand to avoid the use of toxic glue. Sure, not all of the models are catwalk worthy, but I wouldn’t mind picking up a pair of boots… for the sake of saving the planet of course.

A wet comeback

So I have decided to not let a little thing like no followers stop me from not writing my blog. Ok, so there is one other thing--NO MOTIVATION. The last few months have not been fields of daisies for me. My sweet grandpa passed away and I felt like I lost a part of me. Couple of months later I lost my dad, right before the holidays. This blew my whole world into a billion pieces. I never thought I could feel this empty inside and have been struggling finding myself lately. I guess inspirations for writing have been hard for me to come across..But I make a promise today, to myself (and my three followers, that consist of my sweet sister, loyal husband and a dear friend)--I will write more. I will rise to the challenge. My own challenge that seems to come to me as a huge wave, trying to drown me in nothing but hesitation. I will dive under that wave and come out wet, yet undefeated! (Ok, perhaps I overdid it on the analogy, but you get my point..)
For now,I say good night to you, my sweet computer screen and vow to return soon...
